(ATLANTA) October 23, 2009 – GRAMMY® award winning artist, actor and philanthropist Christopher ‘Ludacris’ Bridges and music mogul and philanthropist Chaka Zulu have joined forces to formally throw their support behind State Senator Kasim Reed (D-Atlanta).  They will be hosting a celebrity fundraiser to bring the political and entertainment communities behind their candidate of choice. The event is scheduled for Sunday, October 25th, and will be held at Ludacris’ restaurant Straits in Midtown from 8 pm – 11 pm.

Leaders in Atlanta’s arts and entertainment world have long been strong supporters of Senator Reed. He has worked closely with them for years to help make our city the premier center for creativity and culture in the southeastern United States. In addition, Senator Reed’s focus on enhancing public safety, bringing jobs to Atlanta and improving our public schools have enabled him to build a large and diverse coalition of supporters.

Senator Reed was recently endorsed by Congressman Hank Johnson (D-Georgia), Creative Loafing, The Sunday Paper, the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and former Atlanta Mayor, Ambassador Andrew Young.

The event is $250 per person.  Other hosts of the event include Atlanta Hawks player Jamal Crawford, James Dubose, Sean Garret and Gee Roberson.
