Reed Endorses
Barack Obama for President (Read
the Press Release from 1.7.08)
Posted by Kasim Reed Feburary 18, 2008 6:24 pm As
many of you may know, I endorsed Senator Barack Obama for President prior to his
resounding victory in the Georgia Democratic Primary. I endorsed Senator Obama
because I believe that he is uniquely qualified to unite our country at a time
when we face many great challenges. He has earned our support through hard work,
and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of ordinary citizens. Our
city and our state will benefit greatly from his service to our nation as president,
and I look forward to doing everything in my power to see that he wins the presidency
of the United States.
I enjoyed helping the Obama
campaign prevail in Georgia , and continue to actively work with the Campaign
in hopes that he will secure the Democratic nomination. If you would like to be
involved in the Obama campaign, please sign up to volunteer at www.barackobama.com
. Of course, if you have not yet signed up as
a volunteer on my site, you can do so at http://www.kasimreed.com/kr_volunteer.html
. Opening Blog for KasimReed.com Posted
by Kasim Reed May 3, 2006 10:02 am Hello,
this is Kasim Reed and I would like to welcome you to my blog. It is my hope that
you will visit often so that I can keep you informed on what I'm doing as your
voice in the Georgia Legislature. This
is my first venture into the blogosphere, and I must say that I am very excited
about the opportunity to communicate directly with you. The Internet is changing
the way that we share information and I look forward to using this tool to let
you know about things that we can do together to fight for progress in our great
state. Let me start
by telling you a little bit about what I've been doing lately. First, I'm pleased
to announce that I have qualified for re-election to the Georgia Senate from District
35. Representing the people of Fulton and Douglas Counties has truly been an honor.
I am proud of our accomplishments over the past four years and I eagerly anticipate
a successful re-election campaign. I am grateful for the tremendous volunteer
support that we have received in the past. We welcome your participation in my
re-election campaign. You can join us by signing up here.
In addition to working
towards re-lection, I have continued my efforts to improve our community. As you
may have heard, we were successful in passing
legislation to create two new municipalities. This new development has been
met with an overwhelmingly positive response. I am continually working with community
leaders to ensure that this exciting new endeavor is a success. Also,
I have the pleasure of serving as Chair of the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee.
In this capacity, I have traveled throughout Georgia to recruit talented men and
women to join me in the Georgia Senate. We are very excited about the group of
outstanding Democrats who are answering the call of public service in every part
of this state. With such a diverse, bright group of candidates, the future is
indeed bright for Georgia. Well,
that's about it for now. While I'm still no techie, I think that I'm stating to
get the hang of this whole blog thing. I'm going to keep updating this from time
to time, so please stop by soon. In the meantime, if you want to receive e-mail
updates from us, you can sign up here.
I look forward to speaking
with you soon, Kasim |
